Green Advantage is an organization that is committed to providing green building certification to and for construction professionals. As the demand for greener products and services continues to grow, building developers and owners want better energy efficiency that will in turn lead to healthier, more environmentally-friendly buildings. Green Advantage provides independent green certifications to qualifying organizations and individuals in the building and construction industries.
The Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County serves as the main representation for all professionals in the residential construction industry at local, state and national levels. The organization represents and promotes the interests of all members on issues affecting the ability to provide affordable housing for residents of Wake County. Members include contractors, developers, suppliers and sales/marketing professionals in the residential construction industry, and the organization provides members with the opportunity for business development, professional growth, education and networking opportunities. All members of the Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County are also members of the North Carolina Home Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders.
The Remodelers Council of the Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County provides educational programs to help improve professionalism among all local remodeling contractors in the industry. The Council also provides information to residents of Raleigh and Wake County on how to select a remodeling contractor. The Council has grown since 1993 to now be the 4th largest Council of its kind nationwide. It is affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders National Remodelers Council and the North Carolina Home Builders Association.
The U.S. Green Building Council is a private non-profit organization that promotes sustainability in the design and operation of buildings. The USGBC developed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building rating systems and annually hosts the world’s largest conference and show dedicated to the specific promotion of green building.
The National Association of Home Builders is a nationally recognized construction industry trade association that helps to promote the policies that make housing a national priority. Instated in 1942, the NAHB has been serving members, the housing industry and the public for decades, analyzing various groups’ policy issues and working toward improving the housing finance system. The NAHB also analyzes and helps to forecast economic and consumer trends in the housing industry.
